After a long search for pure & fresh black seed oil I (Youssef) ended up in Egypt where in the middle of 2013, I had 60 kilograms of black seed pressed. Back in the Netherlands I started selling the oil on a small scale. It surprised me that there is a great demand for this within the Islamic community, and certainly also outside the Islamic community because of the many benefits and benefits that the oil brings.

Given the demand, I started thinking about setting up my own company where I wanted to import the oil. Given the distance to Egypt, import prices and the possibility to receive poor quality (diluted and heated) oil, I went looking for other possibilities myself. Ultimately, in spite of the high investments, I chose to invest in my own press. In this way I know for sure that firstly the oil is pure without any added thinner. Secondly, I can guarantee the quality that stands or falls with the way the seeds are pressed.

The larger companies often press black seed at high temperatures and add various chemical substances for an optimal press yield. The heating has several disadvantages such as the loss of important components and beneficial substances. The chemical additives make the oil artificial and unnatural. To be sure that the oil is pure and natural, I started in 2013 pressing black seed.

In conclusion, I want to end with a beautiful tradition of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him. A tradition that is close to our heart and reminds us to act honestly and well:

Abu Hurairah (a companion of the Prophet), may Allaah be pleased with him, has told that the Prophet peace be with him passed by a pile of food, and put his hand into it, and his fingers touched something wet. He said, “What is this, O seller of the food?” The man said, “It got rained on, O Messenger of Allaah.” He said, “Why did you not put it (the wet part) on top of the pile so that the people could see it? He who deceives does not belong to me.”

According to other reports, “He who deceives us is not one of us,” or, “He is not one of us who deceives us.” (Narrated by Muslim).

Wishing you a lot of health!
